We welcome to the staff Carol Reeser, our Parish Secretary.
Carol, who grew up in Oak Park and went to school at Saint Mary’s of Royal Oak, was an administrative assistant at Michigan Bell/AT&T, where she worked for 35 years. She also worked for five years as the Faith Formation Secretary at Saint Pio in Roseville.
“I belong to Guardian Angels parish,” shares Carol, who is a Vincentian and very involved in the Guardian Angels Saint Vincent de Paul Conference.
“Guardian Angels does not have a Thursday morning Mass, so some of my friends and I would come to Christ, Our Light! at 9 AM. The people at Mass here were so kind and made us feel so welcome.
She adds, “I am so glad that Guardian Angels and Christ, Our Light! are part of the same family of parishes.”
Carol, who has been married to her husband, John, for almost 41 years, is the mother of three and has five grandchildren, aged five months to thirteen years.
“I will miss the extra snuggles during the week from my youngest grandson,” Carol admits, “but luckily he lives nearby.”
“I’d been praying that the right position would come along,” she says. “When Father Don suggested I ‘shadow’ MaryAnn to see if the available position was something I’d like, I felt like it was definitely the right fit!
“My prayer had been answered, with God’s timing…HIS timing.
“And, though Father Don will probably continue to tease that ‘good help is hard to find,’ I feel like this job was meant to be. Everybody has been so warm and welcoming, and I look forward to working with and for this wonderful Christ, Our Light! parish.”
