Welcome Message
If you have come to this page, you are either searching for information about Christ, Our Light! Parish Troy, or you are looking for a parish church to join in the area. In either case, I hope you find what you are looking for.
I believe that the pages of this website will answer your immediate questions about times, dates and activities in a relatively simple way. If you are looking for a place to worship, serve and belong, I also believe you will find what you are looking for here.
Christ, Our Light! Parish was established as a result of the joining of two smaller parishes: Saint Alan in Troy and Saint Columban in Birmingham. On May 25, 2013, after several years of discussions and planning, our new parish was established at the Troy location.
Christ, Our Light! is a small community of 1,000 families surrounded by larger Catholic parishes. The first question is, "Do you want smaller?" Our worship space has been beautifully and comfortably refurbished. We are blessed by two very talented Ministers of Music, an active Ministry of Evangelization and Service, a strong program of Religious Education and Faith Formation for adults, children, and special needs families and their children.
One day, the Gospel recounts, a few people in the crowd asked Jesus what He was about and where He was going. The Savior's response was the invitation: "Come and see." I extend to you the same invitation. Come and see if the Christ, Our Light! community is what you are looking for. Hopefully, you will find a place where you can worship and celebrate your love for God and God's love for you, both to be served and to serve.
